Ooh La Lacquer Review: Beware of the Plastics & Pink Wednesday

Happy Sunday all! Before I get to the review I want to remind you all of the exciting things to start Monday with my new schedule. Here is a refresher: Mon, Wed, Fri are review days. Tuesdays are Try It On Tuesdays (TIOT). Thursday is Nail Art, and every other weekend is set aside for stamping. I will soon be participating in a very relaxed challenge with some of my buddies that were in the 31 day challenge! We will be doing the ABC challenge, pretty easy since it's just using a polish that the name or brand starts with whichever letter we are on and we are doing it weekly instead of daily! So if any of you are down with the challenge please head over to Kimber's Lacquer Korner and leave her a comment on that post letting her know your URL so she can add you to the list! You can do it! Once a week is super relaxed!
Ok, I'm finished rambling now! So on to the polish...
Today I have 2 of 4 of the Mean Girls Collection from Ooh La Lacquer! If you don't know the references the names are referring to from the movie you really need to see the movie, yes it's a teen movie but it's so funny!

Beware of the Plastics: neon and matte yellow, blue, turquoise and pink glitters in a clear base.

All photos of Beware of the Plastics are shown as 3 coats on the pinkie and index fingers and 2 coats over Sally Hansen Green With Envy on ring and index fingers. All are topped with 1 coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Mega Shine.

The formulas was much easier to work with than I expected, very smooth and not as thick as most small glitter polishes are. I think I prefer it with no undies personally but I'm sure it would look great over several colors. As with all small glitter polishes you need to make sure you allow sufficient drying time between coats so you don't have any dragging and you need a good smoothing top coat as well, which is why I used a coat of Glitter Food (review coming very soon) and a coat of Mega Shine. I really love the colors in this mix, the pink is a perfect bit of POP to the other colors!

Pink Wednesday: matte hot pink and light pink hexes and squares in a clear base

All photos show 2 coats of Pink Wednesday over Sinful Colors Soul Mate topped with 1 coat of Mega Shine.

I layered this over pink, but this would be a great glitter topper for any color! The glitters were so easy to get out of the bottle, not requiring any fishing for the larger ones and only a tiny bit of placing the squares was needed. They lay very flat on the nail, no crazy glitters poking out so only the basic top coat was required. The formula was smooth like butter. I'm really in love with this pink glitter bomb, but who's surprised? LOL

Overall, these 2 are amazing in my book! Great colors and amazing formulas! Great job Ooh La Lacquer! You can find Ooh La Lacquer on Etsy here. Full sized bottles are $8 and minis are $4, you can even get a special of 3 mini's for $10!
You can also find Ooh La Lacquer on Facebook and Twitter @OohLaLacquer.
I will have another review on Ooh La Lacquer in the next couple of days so make sure you come back to see that!

  1. These are very cool. The green one reminds me of "floam".

Looking forward to the next polishes you review from Ooh La Lacquer!
